The Betsy Trophy (Horse’s Ass)

The Betsy Trophy is awarded to the member who has the best attendance but has won the least amount of points. It does not include special shootings.

Donated by Mr and Mrs. Ed Cheys (Life Member), the Betsy Trophy has been in competition for 51 years and serves as a nice reminder of Ed’s commitment and long standing membership and association with Robin Hood. He was an active member of the club for over 35 years, and still supports the club on a regular basis. Ed holds many records that still stand today. He picked up the sport from his father, Julian, and passed it to his three sons, Ray, Brian, and David. Ed’s grandson Lyndon is also active in the club.

Notes:

* After 1970 when George Seys was the King Shooter (considered to be the clubs best shot) and the Betsy winner in the same year, the club voted in a rule saying an archer who won another club trophy would not be eligible to win the Betsy Trophy.  However, over time this rule was forgotten and a mistake was made in rewarding Mark Richter the Betsy Trophy in 2002, after he was also crowned the King Shooter for that same year.
